Portage a North Wind Company is looking for a Quality Control Technician in Luckey, OH.


The Quality Control (QC)Technician’s duties for the Luckey Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial ActionProgram (FUSRAP) Remediation Project include, but are not limited to:


  • Verify that all requiredconstruction QC sampling, testing, and documentation are performed correctly.
  • Assist in the development, training,and verify use of Quality Assurance (QA)/QC procedures and instructions.
  • Ensure that the construction projectplans are properly executed and evaluate the effectiveness of controlsdelineated in the Luckey work plans and procedures.
  • Participate in conducting dailyquality checks and obtaining data for Daily Quality Report
  • Support quality audits andinspections
  • Ensure that project record keepingis effective, thorough and complete
  • Assist in recording, maintaining,and submitting various information into the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’(USACE)  Resident Management System(RMS)/quality control system (QCS)
  • Provide other support, as necessary,to the Contract Quality Control Site Manager



Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years of increasing jobresponsibilities
  • Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multipleactivities and provide QC oversight for multiple contractors and craft.
  • Experience working on radiologicaland/or hazardous waste sites.
  • Experience on a USACE site preferred,including an understanding and experience with RMS/QCS.
  • Prior experience in QA/QC.
  • Ability to obtain Radiation WorkerII qualifications, complete Occupational Safety and Health Administration(OSHA) Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) workerqualification, and pass a HAZWOPER/respirator user medical exam.
  • Ability to work in different typesof personal protective equipment (half-face, full-face respirators, Tyvek,etc.) while performing various tasks/activities (e.g., climbing, walking,stopping, etc.) in different work environments (e.g., cold, heat, etc.).
  • Experience in work environments withexposure to all weather conditions and temperature extremes.
  • Proficient in use of MicrosoftOffice software (Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Motivated and willing to work aspart of a team and perform multiple job functions.
  • Ability to clearly communicate, bothorally and in written form, and to maintain records related to the job.
  • Ability to read and comply withproject direction contained in project-specific plans and procedures, and/orexecute tasks after receiving verbal direction.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • May be required to pass apre-employment background check.
  • Must be required to pass apre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be required to undergo pre-employment beryllium blood testing (to be scheduled by Portage).  Only people who are found to not be sensitized to beryllium will be allowed to work on the Luckey site.
  • Experience on remediation/construction type projects is highly desirable.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
